Obituary of Priscilla R. Tyson

Priscilla Roxanne Tyson, loving wife of Anthony Tyson of 22 years, entered into her eternal salvation on November14, 2019 surrounded by her loving family and friends.  She was born January 22, 1961, to the late Albert and Wilma Burden of Norwalk which brought joy to them.

 

She was a member of the House of Prayer; attended Springfield College, where she received a Master of Social Work degree; and worked in the field of Social Work in various positions for over 25 years. She was employed for the past five years at MCCA Waterbury Outpatient Clinic, as a Clinician 4 for mental health and substance abuse.

 

Her beloved husband, Anthony, shared that Priscilla made him a better person. She had a magnetic smile and her laugh rippled through a room. She was a woman of faith and trusted in God. Priscilla loved her family deeply, and she was an incredible servant and leader for the Lord.

 

She is survived by her siblings Reginald Hutchins, Alex Burden, Cedric Burden Sr. (Trina), Inger Burden, David Burden (Kia) and Kimberly Burden. She also leaves Anthony’s family whom she referred to as Mom and Dad; Leotis and Shirley M. Tyson Sr. and brothers & sisters: Leotis Tyson Jr., Alicia Tyson Sherwood (Chuck), Christopher Tyson, Wendy Cook (Ken), Wanda Lary, David Tyson (Daniela), Shirley J. Tyson, and Cindy Tyson; two aunts: Rita O. Hunt and Barbara Paysour (Lamar) of North Carolina and two uncles: Barney Burden (Alqueen) and Robert “Bobby” Burden of Norwalk with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

 

She was predeceased by her brother Albert and Rose (wife) Burden Jr.

 

A funeral service will be held Friday, November 22, 2019 at 9 am at The House of Prayer Church, 1245 Thomaston Ave., Waterbury. Burial will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 5pm to 8 pm at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect.  James R. Sanders Funeral Director.
