It feels like yesterday when you left. Time flies fast and life goes on. Losing you bought pain beyond belief. Words cannot ease our pain or sadness. Our hearts are still broken but we are comforted knowing you are resting in peace in the arms of our Lord and Savior. You were so wonderful and so dear. Even though you have left this world, you will never be forgotten. You will always remain within our hearts. Love is everlasting and so are our memories. You are loved and missed.

Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior and redeemer, you willingly gave yourself up to death, so that all might be saved and pass from death to life. By dying you unlocked the gates of life for all those who believe in you. It has been a year since you have welcomed our precious John E. Stenson Sr. into paradise, where he has no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but the fullness of peace and joy with your Son, the Holy Spirit, Mary, the Angels and all the Saints. WE THANK YOU. We miss John very much . John, you are gone but will never be forgotten. Loving you always,
Joan K. Williams-Cash – Southfield, Michigan

I first met John at church and then got to know him while working at NOW, Inc. I found John to be a friend, I could easily talk to him and I enjoyed listening to his words of wisdom. I can't believe he is gone, I miss my friend.
To the family, you are in my prayers, I know this is a difficult time, but it is true from the word of the Lord, there is no sorrow that heaven can not heal. You have my prayers for God's comfort during this time of loss. With Heartfelt Sympathy, Margaret Toms

Fred Jerkins recently introduced a song on the gospel charts entitled “Victory”. I’m sure John is singing it right now. “By the hand of the Almighty, I’ve been set free, Healed, Delivered, made Complete, now I’m walking in Victory….” Yes you are John. Yes you are.

Our deepest condolences to the family of our brother, John Stenson. He’ll always be remembered for his unusual golf swing that never let the ball leave the fairway. He was a man who made a difference in so many ways. His wit, charm and humor was unlike anyone we’ve ever met. If you were lucky enough to tee it up with John you were assured a fun round of golf!
On a personal note, brother Stenson was like a father to most of us “young guys”. He’d drop nuggets of wisdom frequently during our rounds of golf. The week before he passed Dilton and I visited John and like clockwork he dropped a few good ones.
He told us to live every day as if it was your last, cherish the time that you’re able to spend with friends and family, and tell the people that mean the most to you how much you love them. I’ll never forget your words bro Stenson.
The Seed won’t be the same without you. God must have needed you in his foursome. Hit ’em straight and long Bro Stenson.

Dear John,
The Williams family met you 60 years ago when you came to 45 Harris Circle to deliver our newspaper. The deliveries eventually stopped but, through the years, we enjoyed happy times together during high school competitions and socially. Since then, life has happened. You have fulfilled your many roles here on earth. You have lived and taught by example what it truly means to be a son, brother, friend, husband, father , grandfather and great-grandfather. You were always hard working, genuine, honest, and caring. You put your personal life on hold to keep us safe during your many years of service in the Military. Thank You.
Your special day has come and you have passed all tests here on earth with honors. It is time for you to receive your heavenly reward. You will be missed. Rest in the arms of our Lord and Savior.
To the family, friends and colleagues of John E.Stenson Sr, his passing has saddened our hearts.
We send our sincere condolences. We will continue to pray that fond memories and the comfort of our Lord will help you through this difficult time. May we all, one day, be united together again in Eternal Life.
